I am a counsellor qualified to work with Adults, Couples and children/Young Adults and a regulated member of the BACP and work within their ethical frameworks. I practice online and from dedicated therapy rooms located in Cheltenham and Evesham.
I work using an integrative model & also work from a person centered core which places the client at the centre of our work together.
The key to successful therapy is the relationship between therapist and client. If it's trusting and non-judgemental, then you will feel safe enough to explore whatever it is that has brought you to me.
How can psychotherapy help?
Becoming conscious of old patterns of behaviour and how they may have prevented you from growing is the key to living a fulfilling and more authentic life. None of us can alter reality, however we can choose how we engage with it. The process of therapy is not a mystery, it is a straightforward witnessing, heart to heart, between therapist and client. The aim is for you to become your own therapist and to hold the widest possible perspective on your own life.
What is my role?
My role is to help you unpick what's led you to this point. You may be experiencing trauma or simply want to understand yourself better. I will meet you where you are and be present with you, with compassion, in whatever experience you bring to our session.
What sort of difficulties might you bring to me?
Often people come to therapy experiencing anxiety or depression. I work with a wide range of difficulties such as relationship issues, bereavement (recent and past), addictive behaviours, low self-esteem or feelings of emptiness and a search for meaning. Healing begins when we acknowledge that we need to truly give ourselves space to reflect on our life.
